Starting a Boutique Business!
First, you have to realize that you get what you put into any kind of Business venture. Be realistic, don't expect to replace a $80, 000 year job in the first few years. Looking at the statistics, I think its best to start small and work up from there. Lets face it, most Boutiques in my community only last about a year. With my experience, I think its best to start working home parties, fund raisers or any event you can find in your community. (If your Daughter is in Dance, use that as your focal point) My boys play hockey, so I used hockey and figure skating events as my focal point, this has been very successful for me. Instead of opening a full retail store, I rent a small studio in a Beauty Mall, I can set my own hours and I have a great place to work out of and its only 5 minutes from my house. The one I rent from has 32 studios, the larger the better so you can feed off the traffic. This is great for a Mom who wants to make some extra money and still be available for her family when they need you. I don't make a ton of money at the Boutique but I make enough to pay the rent and a little extra, my main income comes from the events I work, its a lot more work but it's what I have to do to make my business successful. I also have a website, which takes time to prosper, but if you give it time it can be a great money maker.
After continually being asked if I would sell wholesale, I put together a Wholesale Boutique Vendor List. It is basically a list of all the Wholesale Vendors I have accumulated over the years by spending countless hours on the web and many Vendors are from the Apparel Shows that I attend twice a year in Vegas. If interested you can purchase the List from my website for $59.00, Its a bargain when you consider all the hours you will save searching on the web. Basically if you like the products you see on my website, you will be very happy with the Vendor List. This list is great for someone just starting out or a established business just looking to add quality vendors to their business. Wholesale Vendor List
Please let me know if you have any questions, I would be happy to answer!
